Airbag & Safety System Restoration · OEM-Certified · Upland, CA

Airbag replacement & SRS restoration after an accident.

When the airbags deploy, the system that just protected you is spent — and it will not protect you again until it's rebuilt correctly. At Green Tech Collision Center we replace every deployed airbag, seatbelt pretensioner and crash sensor with OEM parts, then reset and verify the supplemental restraint system so it fires exactly as designed in the next impact. This is safety-critical work, not cosmetic.

Can a car be repaired after the airbags deploy?

Yes — deployed airbags, seatbelt pretensioners and crash sensors are replaced with OEM parts, and the supplemental restraint system (SRS) is reset and verified, so everything fires correctly in the next impact. A car with deployed airbags is absolutely repairable, but it is not a job to be shortcut. The restraint system is a single-use safety net that already did its job once, and putting it back means restoring every part of it to the exact standard the manufacturer built in.

In a serious impact, several systems fire at once in a fraction of a second. The front, side and curtain airbags inflate to cushion you, the seatbelt pretensioners yank the slack out of your belts to hold you in place, the impact sensors around the vehicle read the crash and tell the system to fire, and the SRS control module orchestrates all of it and records what happened. Once that sequence runs, every one of those components is spent or compromised — and the dash, steering wheel, seats and trim they were built into usually have to be rebuilt around the new parts.

Green Tech Collision Center has restored safety systems for Inland Empire drivers since 2006. We don't reuse restraint parts, and we don't simply erase the warning light to make the dash look normal. We replace what deployed with genuine OEM components, reset the SRS the right way, and prove the system is whole again with a clean diagnostic scan before the car ever leaves the shop.

What Deploys In A Crash

The restraint system that fires to protect you — and has to be rebuilt.

Front, Side & Curtain Airbags

Every airbag that deployed is replaced with the correct OEM unit — front, side-impact and roof-mounted curtain bags that shield your head in a rollover or side hit.

Seatbelt Pretensioners

Pretensioners fire to remove belt slack in the crash and are single-use. We replace them so your belts lock you down correctly the next time, not just retract.

Impact & Crash Sensors

The sensors that read the collision and command the system to fire are replaced and their wiring verified — so the SRS actually senses the next impact in time.

SRS Control Module

The module that orchestrated the deployment records crash data and often must be replaced or restored, then reset — never simply cleared with spent parts left in place.

Dash, Wheel & Trim

Airbags live inside the dashboard, steering wheel and seats. We rebuild those assemblies around the new restraints with a factory-correct fit and finish.

System Reset & Scan

We clear the SRS the proper way through the control module and confirm zero fault codes with a full diagnostic scan — the light goes out because the system is truly restored.

Restored, Not Reset

Every restraint replaced — then proven with a clean system scan.

A dark airbag light can be faked with a scan tool. A restored safety system is different: new OEM parts, a properly reset SRS, and a diagnostic scan that confirms the system will fire the way it was engineered to in the next impact.

Why It Has To Be Done Right

Why OEM parts and a proper reset are non-negotiable.

The airbag system is the one repair where cutting corners can cost a life. A used or salvaged airbag may have already been through a crash, been stored improperly, or come from a different model — any of which can make it fail to deploy or deploy incorrectly when you need it. And simply clearing the SRS light with a scan tool while leaving spent parts in place makes the dashboard look normal while the system underneath is dead. We do neither. Every restraint component is genuine OEM, and the system is reset and verified the correct way. This work also ties directly into structural repair — because the sensors that trigger the airbags are mounted to the body — and into ADAS recalibration, since your driver-assist systems share the same crash logic.

  • Genuine OEM restraint parts only — no salvaged, used or mismatched airbags, ever.
  • SRS reset through the control module — the light goes out because it's fixed, not hidden.
  • Full diagnostic scan, zero fault codes — the system is proven, not assumed.
  • Complete satisfaction guarantee — done right, or no charge applied.
  • Front, side & curtain airbag replacement
  • Seatbelt pretensioner replacement
  • Impact sensor & SRS module restoration
  • SRS / airbag warning light cleared correctly
  • Ties into ADAS calibration & structure

Straight Answer

How much does airbag replacement cost?

Every case is unique, and airbag and SRS restoration is one of the more significant repairs for a simple reason: the parts are expensive and safety-critical. Each airbag, seatbelt pretensioner, crash sensor and control module is a genuine OEM component — there's no economy version of a part whose job is to save your life — and the dashboard, steering wheel, seats and trim they sit behind usually have to be rebuilt around the new restraints. Because of that, deployed-airbag repair is almost always part of an insurance claim rather than something paid out of pocket.

Since no two deployments are the same, we don't quote this repair off a photo and a guess. We inspect the vehicle, document every component that fired, and pull the SRS codes to see the full picture before any parts are ordered — and we handle the insurer directly so the right restraints are approved, not the cheapest workaround. If your car also took structural damage or your safety cameras need re-aiming, see our overview at collision repair and our page on ADAS calibration. Either way, the inspection and estimate are free, and you'll leave knowing exactly what your vehicle needs to protect you again — no pressure, no guesswork.

Yes. Deployed airbags, seatbelt pretensioners and crash sensors are replaced with OEM parts, and the supplemental restraint system (SRS) is reset and verified so everything fires correctly in the next impact. At Green Tech Collision Center we replace every spent restraint component, restore the dash and trim they were built into, clear the SRS the correct way through the vehicle's control module, and scan the system to confirm zero fault codes before the car goes back on the road.

Every case is unique. Airbag and SRS restoration is one of the more significant repairs because the parts are expensive and safety-critical — each airbag, pretensioner, sensor and module is a genuine OEM component, and the dash and trim they sit behind often have to be rebuilt around them. For that reason it is almost always handled as part of an insurance claim rather than out of pocket. We inspect the vehicle, document every deployed component, and give you a free, honest estimate before any work begins.

After a crash the SRS control module records fault codes and lights the airbag warning lamp because one or more restraint components have deployed or been disturbed. The light does not turn off on its own, and it should never be cleared with a scan tool alone while leaving spent parts in place — that hides the problem instead of fixing it. We replace the deployed components with OEM parts, then reset and verify the system through the control module so the light goes out because the system is genuinely restored.

No. A used, salvaged or improperly reset airbag can fail to deploy — or deploy incorrectly — in the next crash, which is the moment your family is counting on it most. The SRS is a single-use safety system, and each spent component must be replaced with the correct OEM part and the module reset properly. At Green Tech Collision Center we never reuse restraint parts or simply erase the warning light. We restore the system to manufacturer specification and prove it with a clean system scan.
